The Worlds Largest Truffle

Julie’s been making truffles since she went blind in 1997 and decided to go after this world record as part of Operation Truffle, which sees her visiting Intermediate schools around New Zealand to inspire the kids with her “why not” philosophy and how they can turn change into opportunity.

Visit www.thatblindwoman.co.nz to learn more about Julie and the record breaking attempt for which Wedderburn are providing calibrated scales for the official weighing of Julie’s giant truffle in October 2011.

Auckland Zoo

Wedderburn have long been keen supporters of Auckland Zoo and have a particularly close association with the Elephants. Recently we have undertaken to further support Auckland Zoo with a wider offering of professional equipment and services for all Zoo residents.

Of course, proving all things in life are relative, Burma’s personal Wedderburn scale is somewhat larger than the rest.

Wedderburn are very proud to have such a long standing association with the professional team of carers at the Auckland Zoo who are so truly devoted to the overall wellbeing of species, not only in New Zealand, but around the world. Click here to visit the Auckland Zoo website and find out more about the elephants.

Loud Shirt Day

Wedderburn staff had fun committing all sorts of fashion crimes in a bid to show our support for Loud Shirt Day again this year. Loud Shirt Day is the annual appeal of The Hearing House and the Southern Cochlear Implant Paediatric Programme to raise awareness and help deaf kids learn to listen and talk like their hearing friends.  To find out more visit www.loudshirtday.co.nz

The Brain Injury Association

In line with our philosophy of giving back to our community, this year Wedderburn has chosen to support the very important Brain Injury Association of Auckland’s 2010 Fundraising Campaign. The theme this year was: "Brain injury is about friends and families too". The funding from this campaign will assist the BIA to continue supporting people with brain injuries along with their families and friends.  For more information visit www.brain-injury.org.nz

Fresh Future Children's Hospital Appeal

The Fresh Future Children's Hospital Appeal helps to support and care for sick Kiwi children and their families, by raising funds for dedicated children’s wards at hospitals around the country.  Fresh Future fundraising activities include head shavings, raffles, concerts, trivia nights, bungee jumps, sausage sizzles, golf days, garage sales and a kids duathlon.

Once again, Wedderburn are proud to be a part of this worthwhile cause, and are a participating sponsor at the annual Fresh Futures Charity Golf Day.
